Assalamualaikum..

English post today!! hehe =)

Malaysians especially malays, who read newspapers must be rocked by the High Court's decision to allow the word Allah to be used in one of the Catholic's publication. Forgot the name of their publication.

A day after, we all see all major malay newspapers writes about similar issues, including HarakahDaily. This is an issue which had taken such lengthy period of time, can I say since the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) himself. Christians and Jews are sarcastically asking about Allah and His features etc2. Christians do belief in Allah, but they don't have the same concept of God as muslims do. So Muslims, do differentiate, yeah! Not just blindly follows that God is Allah, and Allah is God.

If we reflect back on what happened during the first 10-13 years of Islamic propagation in Arab continent, we shall see that those Arabs, generally accept that Allah is the word which has no meaning, and doesn't comes out from any similar words that have different meaning. The word Allah just means and indicate that there's the Ultimate Supreme power that created and governs the world. So Allah do means God or what?

Let say I accept the word God has similar meaning as Allah do due to the fact that God has the attributes of Supreme power that creates and governs the world. So I'll interchangeably use the word Allah and God. But then, God comes with the feminine version of it, Goddess. But that doesn't seem to be happening with Allah. If we asked Arab language scholars, they would slam anybody who claimed that the word Allah literally show that it is feminine in nature due to the 'ha' (search: taa marbutah) which indicates the feminism nature. The word 'Allah' is ingenderable, if I may say use that term. 'Allah' is complete in nature. If we see, God in Christian publication does have genderity (or the attributes of the possibility to be given gender). See God the Father, it doesn't seems to be weird right? How about Allah the Father? Doesn't that sound awkward? And Allah does not come with supporting word as God do. Let me explain to using examples.

'God' 'the Ultimate God' 'the Merciful God'

Sounds okay right? Nothing wrong with the words, kan?

'Allah' 'the Ultimate Allah??' 'the Merciful Allah??'

A BIG NO NO there!! That's just wrong. Instead, it should be 'Allah the Ultimate' or 'Allah the Most Merciful'..

Still, if this does not weigh the reason to prohibit the use of 'Allah' to replace 'God', so be it. We can't deny their rights to use the word. Let them use it.

But it does not end there.

Let's look into another matter. The concept of Allah/God between Islam and Christians. In Islam, we all agree that Allah creates mankind, but does not, in any circumstances, resembles mankind. Muslims do belief that Allah is Ultimate, don't have a start nor an ending. So Allah, in Islamic perspective, don't die. Not even dying for the sake of forgiving the the inherited sin. (search:Original Sin in Christian) For Allah SO LOVE THE WORLD, ALLAH FORGIVES EVERY MANKIND, because ALLAH IS THE MOST MERCIFUL. Allah is COMPLETE, what? So why the need for Allah to sacrifice Himself? (I bet people will blast me for using 'Himself') In Islam, Allah can't resemble mankind. That's not a Godly attribute. If a God can, meaning he is not God. Because mankind needs food, companion and the environment. Do the Ultimate God need all this? And God shouldn't rest after creating the world. He is Complete what, then what and why the need to rest? Hello?? See the difference? Allah, the complete word is ultimate and again the repeat, 'COMPLETE', flawless. Do 'God' have it? So cannot use lah kan?

Still, if this does not weigh the reason to prohibit the use of 'Allah' to replace 'God', so be it. We can't deny their rights to use the word. Let them use it.

This is why I love him. Stern and clear cut statement given. No 'selindung-selindung' one. Right? Thank you Dr Mahathir. But, to say 'Allah is only for muslims', for that one I personally think, is quite not right, Dr M. Allah is not 'ONLY' for muslims. Allah is for all because Allah is the Creator and Sustainer of the mankind, including muslims, christians, jews and even pagans. Maybe this is just a technical language matter, but I see the relevance of pointing up a point here. Anyway BRAVO LAH DR M!!

Have faith in Allah. For Allah so love mankind, he'll judge us and forgive us, at His own Will.

p/s: another entry related (or maybe just 'bau2 bacang') to this issue will be posted later on..

Salam

This is a good one. You've even given us a 'trailer' of what's coming next huh? hehe

I really hope that our people will stick to their senses, be diplomatic and reasonable - so that both parties (Muslims and Christians in Malaysia) or their leaders, would never wage a 'Holy war' because of this issue!!
